Our teacher, Dr. Bradley Orchard, shared the following recording between Steven Strogratz (a professor of mathematics at Cornell and a real force in the world of non-linear dynamics, or dynamical systems) and Corina Tarnita, a professor of biology at Princeton. They talk about the use of mathematics in theoretical biology and how it was used to solve the tough problem of the “fairy circles” of termites with his high school students.

Dr. Brad also suggested some insights on the background of “fairy circles.”
Definitely an interesting listen, please feel free to share with your high school students and fellow math & science appreciators!
Thank you, Dr. Brad!
